If you are starting a trial for the first time and are encountering the error "attempted to start the trial too many times", you first need to choose an activation method in the iLok License Manager application. Either iLok Dongle (USB), or iLok Cloud (Internet-based).

If you are activating via iLok Cloud, you may need to restart your iLok Cloud session:
In the iLok License Manager application, go to FILE -> Close Cloud Session.
To reactivate your cloud session, Open the iLok License Manager application, go to FILE -> Open Cloud Session.
